ECA is a Santa Barbara County small farm operation using aquaponic technologies to grow high efficiency food. We strive to produce the healthiest highest quality organic produce. The methods employed allow the system to use a fraction the water that conventional agriculture uses.
Clayton- After serving in the United States Coast Guard Clayton has found a passion for growing food. His interests started with with backyard gardening and evolved into something larger. He currently has a collection of drought tolerant fruit tree varieties at his home and is always looking for the next great water saving crop. After operating a smaller aquaponics system for two and half years Clayton began the business located at the orchid ranch where he and Julian farm 1/3 of an acre of aquaponic veggies. He is here to do things differently and find new efficient methods to create healthy foods.
Julian- A transplant from northern California Julian attended school for business and found his true passion was in plants. After completing the Santa Barbara City College Horticulture program Julian partnered with Clayton to create Eco Conscious Aquaponics. While attending school Julian volunteered at Trinity Gardens where he grew food and helped to provide organic produce to those in need. He brings with him a set of ethics and drive towards growing high quality nutrient dense vegetables and strives to find more ways to get the produce to those who truly need it.
